The sheriff’s office is investigating with the assistance of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
Clark said there is “no imminent threat of danger to the public at this point,” and “there is not somebody at large that just did this.” He declined to share if foul play is suspected.
The remains will be examined to determine the identity of the human remains.
This is the third time human remains have been found in the region in the past month.
Two people looking to buy a house found skeletal remains Sept. 10 at a vacant Dayton property at 3940 Delphos Ave., said Dayton police Sgt. Creigee S. Coleman.
In Hamilton, a male skull was found in a storm sewer line Aug. 27, according to police.
Hamilton police reported the remains were found during a routine storm sewer maintenance inspection, though it had been a decade since that was done in this section — at North Third and Market streets — of the city’s lines.
